Perhaps one of the most bemusing aspects of life in Dereth is the propensity for sudden changes this land appears to exhibit. Derethians have witnessed sweeping changes occur practically overnight with such regularity that this phenomenon has become immortalised in a common saying: "Dereth is full of wonders."
Considering this, it is no surprise that our shopkeepers and merchants are no stranger to sudden change - but the residents of Glendon Wood were a little put out to discover that a frozen dais, complete with an embedded sword, had appeared overnight in the heart of their wooded town! To add insult to injury, not even the strongest of the townspeople could pull the sword from the dais, but each felt compelled to speak with the mage Syltyn Rillon, in her nearby cottage.
Aesa, determined to unravel the mystery behind this frosty blade, decided to speak to Mage Syltyn Rillon for herself and discover the tale behind the blade. Although Rillon's instructions took Aesa into the depths of a Virindi installation in the north of Osteth, and through all the horrors and trials such a journey entails, Aesa was victorious, and succeeded in pulling the Sword of Frozen Fury from the dais!
The notes taken during her journey have now been transcribed from the sheets of inscribed ice they arrived on and recorded in our Quest Compendium, where they can be viewed by anyone interested in unlocking the secrets of the Frozen Dais!
