Parents Ignoring UK Video Game Ratings

In a feat of obliviousness (or perhaps conscientiousness), parents in the UK are ignoring boldly lettered ratings given to video games. The rating system, similar to the ESRB rating system in the States, judges games based on their level of sexual and violent themes, and then suggests the minimum age suitable for play.

Parents ignoring the ratings might actually be a good thing. In an editorial we published earlier this year, we stated parents should be making decisions about what they let their kids play, not some amorphous agency with an agenda.
