DDR, Non-Violent Alternative to Corporal Punishment?

It turns out the game that turns klutzes into social rejects helps kids with ADHD concentrate. Educator Tammy McGraw has conducted a study comprised of 62 sixth-graders with the disease and has found they tested better just months after dedicating an hour per week to DDR.
This isn't the first time video games have been used as learning aids, but the idea of using the bad techno-driven rhythm game in place of my tried and true "slap the back of the head" has me reevaluating my teaching methods.
