Jeff Freeman talks a bit about the nuances of a more "intimate" mini-game bubbling in his head.

Rather than try to paraphrase, here's an excerpt:

The thing was, in order to access the mini-game, one had to be completely and utterly vulnerable: not just to their partner, but to anyone else in the entire game that might happen to see them. While this itself was not completely asinine, the fact that invoking the mini-game flagged you as having committed a hostile act most decidedly was. It's not as if the game were some sort of open player-versus-player combat free-for-all! It was a personal, private, consensual game involving two partners and no one else. And the stupid devs had made it the most dangerous thing to do!
