Graffiti Game Rustling Feathers

A game entitled "Getting Up: Contents Under Pressure" has a councilman in Queens up in arms over the title's context. Players act as a virtual graffiti artist who fights corrupt corporations and rival gangs by spreading messages via spray paint. "You are personally encouraging children to deface neighborhoods, break the law and wind up behind bars," Peter Vallone said.

Of course, we're back to the same argument being had by legislators over violence and other suggestive forms of media getting into kids' hands. And yet again, people like Vallone are missing the point. Games don't inspire graffiti artists, graffiti artists inspire games.
