Illinois Passes Anti-Gaming Law

Gamasutra is reporting the Illinois law that would introduce a fine to retailers who sell "M" rated games to children was passed. The ESA and other gaming groups have vowed to challenge the law, claiming it's unconstitutional, a statement that has been proven in numerous cases around the country.

Doug Lowenstein, President of the ESA, said, "There is already a precedent-setting ruling from the Seventh Circuit, which includes Illinois, establishing the unconstitutionality of this type of statute - and the facts, the science, the law, and the U.S. Constitution have not changed since that decision."
