Rumor Mill: PS3 FFVII

Gamespot is reporting that the PS3 tech demo of Final Fantasy VII is just a prelude to a remake of the game. Sony has yet to respond in any real capacity, but Ricardo Torres makes a good point: it's more "when" than "if."

Now, I'm one of those horrible, horrible people who dislike the Final Fantasy franchise Xenogears did the CRPG thing better, and KOTOR is just a better game and story), but I can't help but wonder if Square realizes they entered the stratosphere when jumping the FF shark when it came to VII. The remakes for the GBA lead me to believe we're going to see more "re-imaginings" and less dress spheres in the future.
