Massive Inc Rolls Up Planetside

Love those ads in Splinter Cell? Good, you little consumer, you. Massive Inc is an ad service that places media inside games. They recently made waves by putting Motley Crue into Anarchy Online, and subsequently allowing Funcom to make the basic version of the game free. Today, they have expanded into another MMO, Planetside. While the game is miniscule compared to SOE's other titles, it does usher in a new era. SOE doesn't make bad decisions when it comes to cash, and even though it's just Planetside, it's only a taste of things to come. Depending on how the community perceives this one, don't be too surprised to see fantasy book ads in EQ by the end of the year.
