Rumor monger site SPONG is reporting Nintendo will be revealing their super secret plans for the Revolution controller on September 16. They've kept the specifics under their hat to this point due to fears that the competition might try to duplicate the SUPER DUPER INNOVATIVE features they're implementing, which will more than likely be a seventh button or special link to the DS. When did Nintendo turn into the console version of Gollum?
I'm still not sure I understand the secrecy regarding a controller. Let's be fair, the chances of reinventing the wheel are pretty nil, and it's not like the Game Cube's... thing was really compelling. Why they're afraid of the technology being copied is beyond me; the closer we get to universal peripherals on consoles, the better. Could you imagine the outcry if Microsoft were to announce Vista would be shipping with a brand new, hyper revolutionary keyboard? I can imagine the press conference now:
"Oh, those old ones you have? Maybe you can get a Mac or Linux or something. That'll be $30 please."
And that's when the lawsuits start.
