Midway Funny, EA Scary
|
Midway has announced today that it's signed a 22 year exclusivity deal with the fictional league in their upcoming Blitz game. They claim the deal cost them billions of dollars, but they've secured 150 years of football history to use in their games alone. Take THAT, EA! They paid $300 million for just five years. Good to see Midway was able to out negotiate them when trying to secure an arguably more entertaining players' union, mostly because a fake union is better than one with Terrel Owens.
But seriously, is this the first case of corporate snarkiness? Midway hasn't really been the apple of my eye since the mid 90's, but damned if they didn't earn about 300 million cool points with this bit of "news."
