Gamasutra is running an article about Lionhead's interface woes. The team has been working to make playing God actually fun, not so much in the Bruce Almighty sense, but in the "hey, I don't have to use a context menu to throw my worshippers in the sun" sense. They're focusing even more on your onscreen hands this time around, attempting to go context sensitive depending on how good or evil you're feeling.
Unfortunately, their tech team vetoed some really cool day and night manipulation. Namely, you're not going to be able to grab the sun and spin it around the globe helter skelter. I'm pretty sure that means I'm not going to be able to drag the moon closer to earth, ultimately annihilating my village with a massive tidal wave. Hey, the Monlyneux giveth, and the Molyneux taketh away.
