HD-DVD Versus Blu-Ray. The Battle No One Cares About Rages On.

In an article that reads like the legendary Onion article about the Cola Wars (Link may have some questionable ads if your boss is that kinda guy), PC World chronicles the ongoing slapfight between Blu-Ray and HD-DVD. This is one of those entertainment industry manhood-measuring contests that costs people high-paying jobs and reputations, while those of us not on the crazy moon world where entertainment execs live continue to live our lives and play our DVDs without even noticing the life and death struggle in the electronics industry. While it's primarily of interest to me for the Hysterical Overinflated Drama angle, people who aren't planning to wait until one format becomes the standard may take an interest in it. Seriously, we're the consumer. All the sissyfighting in the world won't matter if we pick something else entirely. Remember Betamax?
