American Legal System Firing on all Eight Cylinders
|
Sure, we have our ups and downs, but as far as court systems go, America's is pretty responsible, what with appellate courts and the like. Provided we don't get Patriot Acted for saying so, we really like the ruling we read about today: a judge dismissed, with prejudice, an RIAA case attempting to sue the mother of a minor who shared music online. While it's but a drop in the RIAA's massive bucket of resistance toward market evolution, we applaud Judge Zatkoff's stance today that America doesn't stand for beating up on children, or their parents, for offenses that wouldn't be offenses if industry would get off its laurels and start, you know, listening to what customers want. We salute you, good sir!
