Nintendo: "Sure, Revolution Might Not Be As Powerful. You Won't Notice. Anyway, We're Going to Make Good Games While Those Guys

imageNintendo president Satoru Iwata reminded me why I respect Nintendo in this article from IGN. Among his points:

Yes, the Revolution is going to be less powerful than the PS3 and X360. But you're probably not going to notice. This is surely blasphemy in an industry where raw horsepower numbers are tossed around the way car jocks toss around horsepower and torque (and matter even less).

They're perfectly happy being a second console, since they believe in their system.

And the Revolution is probably going to be cheaper, since the non-gamers they're aiming at don't want to spend a lot of cash on game systems.

I mean, this is all industry blasphemy. This is why I respect Nintendo. They follow their own oddball vision wherever it takes them. And, once again, MS is losing money, Sony is losing money, and Nintendo is chugging along just fine.
