Gaming Horizon Doesn't Want You at Their Party

imageWe're five month's out of E3, and the same old song is playing everywhere: "E3 Needs to for About Press, and Press Only" by Every Pretentious Junket Everywhere. Gaming Horizon doesn't want the everyman gawking at booth babes and buying overpriced water at the expo. They cite a few reasons why: 70,000 sweaty nerds are hard to wade through when you want to talk to a PR person and the quest for swag is out of control. Fair points, but my old point still stands: Buck up, because anyone with a blog is capable of doing what "gaming press" does now.

That's right, the 40,000 non-press attendees felt they had to show up, partially to get a personal shot at five minutes of the new Zelda, partially because no one can trust mainstream gaming media any more than they can trust Fox News. If you don't want to mill about with "ordinary people," convince them to trust what you say. Otherwise, you're going to be dealing with lines twice as deep next year.
