Spielberg Teams Up with EA - E.T. FPS Forthcoming

Well, it's news, but I don't think anyone is too surprised. With all the movie-gaming crossover talk, it was only natural that the two would begin merging. Today, EA and Stephen Spielberg have made the first step in truly mashing together the two industries. Spielberg has been signed on to create three individual intellectual properties for EA. Spielberg's a really creative guy. Whether you love him or hate him, he's done some interesting stuff behind a camera. The very thought of him doing something with games makes me pray we'll see deep titles like Schindler's List. Hell, at this point, I'll take Raider's of the Lost Ark-caliber storytelling.

Signing actors and directors to multi-picture deals was extremely popular when the movie industry was young. It ended up going the way of the dodo because actors and directors were tired of being forced into working on bad movies as their contract reached its conclusion. Something to ponder.
