Oooooh, man, I need some new jeans after reading Peter Jackson picked the Beyond Good and Evil guy to do the King Kong game. Beyond Good And Evil is one of the Top 10 All Time Best Games Nobody Played, because it was too good for the gaming industry to handle, so this can only be a good thing.
Also from Peter Jackson in the same interview:
I'd love to make games. It's something I'm seriously thinking about. I'm taking some time off to recharge my batteries, and I'm going to be putting a lot of thought into games. The reality is I've got a bunch of ideas I've been saving for movies, but I'm now thinking that using them for games might be a more fun thing to do. Especially now that games are getting closer to films in their scale and complexity.
Oh god. If we can get the film industry to shove some "story > pixels" into game designers, we may just see a revolution and a blossoming of what the genre can be.
Edit: Oh, god, giant monkeys fighting dinosaurs? That....that's not fair!
