Microsoft Sucks at the Internet: 360s Interfering with Retail Networking
|
Kotaku, my third favorite blog in the world, is reporting that demo units of the 360 are causing wireless networking interference in the stores where they're being displayed. As with all other 2.4 ghz frequencies, it's not surprising that a powerful transmitter is causing some networking connectivity issues, especially if it's sitting right next to a router. Microsoft has quickly created a fix for the problem, and are releasing it as necessary.
It's actually not really a huge deal, but we haven't had much console war coverage. But wireless connectivity is nothing compared to the rumors I heard working retail when the first Xbox came out: Microsoft reps said they had to remove a few units because they burst into flames.
