MS To Ship Vista By Late August 2006; Swami Vandemar Predicts Lackluster Sales, Increase In Linux Market Share

ARS Technica when and why MS plans to hurl Vista at us computing masses. Personally, I see no compelling reason whatsoever to upgrade from XP, which works decently well for just about everything. A new OS with tons of problems, security holes (XP has been out how long? And how many hacks a week do they find for it?), and bugs that does nothing I really care about? Sign me up! Though personally speaking my next OS is going to be either Ubuntu Linux or MacOS if I can't fend off my P-P-Powerbook envy. When Ubuntu gets its wireless support rockin' in a few more releases, I may just switch right over.
