You Heard It Here First: The Game Industry Is Doomed. Or Not.

You know I only bring out the duck for the silliest articles. Or for those that are duck related. Anyway, the duck means I'm talking about silliness. A rant linked via Joystiq claims the games industry is in a state similar to the 80s crash and goes on and on about how much the industry sucks. While I agree the current state of the industry from an artistic and enjoyment perspective is horrible, I have to quote Dark Helmet and say "WHAT'S WITH YOU, MAN?" The gaming industry is storming homes left and right. Revenues are on the increase. Gaming is becoming an acceptable mainstream hobby. Frankly, I think it's just another rant by one of those bitter "hardcore" types mad because their exclusive little corner of the hobby world is fast becoming popular.
