imageTell it from the mountain, people! The BBC is reporting that Sony is "rethinking" its DRM root kit policy, after everyone, from us up to the Department of Homeland Security, called them out on it. All it took was weeks of bad publicity and a patch that didn't actually fix the problem the root kit created for Sony to say, "Maybe we were wrong. Possibly." They're like that stalwart British guy in the group; even admitting the possibility of failure means he's growing as a person. And that's something we can all smile about.

NO MORE ROOT KIT TOOT TOOT YAY! Ahem.

Now, if we can only get working on the DMCA, which lets mistakes like this happen, we'll really start making the world - and the internet - a safer place to be.
