NFL: Everyone Should Make More Boring Football Video Games. Who Wants To Hear John Madden Say Boom Again?!

There's a great irony in the NFL complaining about football being too violent, especially citing NFL Blitz 2003. Would I be a cynic if I suggested this might have less to do with violence in football games and more to do with the exclusive deal the NFL signed with EA not too long ago? I mean, Madden doesn't even let you wail on people after the play is over any more. And I wonder if Blitz '03 is cited because said exclusivity deal means Midway can do whatever they want now that they're not stuck with No Fun League restrictions, which has made for--by most accounts--a largely superior game. Shh! Some heathens are saying Blitz's raunchy gameplay is more fun than the boring Madden. Someone get the NFL on the line!
