Second Life Appeals to First Life to Stop Griefers - FBI Called in to Ward off World-Crashers
|
According to The Second Life Herald, the CEO of Linden Lab gotten in touch with the FBI, and wants to press charges against individuals who manipulated the code inside the game to crash the world. Since Second Life is incredibly open and allows its users to create whatever they like, some users have decided to use the engine against itself. It's actually a really neat social experiment, with a lot of furries tossed in for good measure.
My only question to Linden is, why not just man up and tell your "citizens" (they're not players okay!) you're closing the door on that type of content creation? Calling in the FBI seems extraneous when you can just make it physically impossible for people to crash the servers with a simple script.
