Google wants to take over the world, well at least AOL. Late last week, Google also launched Google Music, following on the heels of Google Earth, Google This, and Google That (perhaps not those last two). Now before you can say "stop the madness", sadly, it is too late. While generically the game industry gets compared to Hollywood, now it appears companies are aiming to be 'bigger than Google'. Truly. Check out this choice quote by NCsoft boss TJ Kim: "Gaming companies will be bigger than Google". He commented on this in an first part of two interview for Gamesindustry.biz. In it, he's discussing the familiar tale of NCsoft, non-physical distribution, and China's want for "more great gaming in their society". When Google starts talking about making a MMO or launching a game portal or better, just buying into a game company, now that's when we've got to worry.
