I think all that monkeying with the timestream really screwed something up, because this person is entirely too reasonable to be a parent in the modern United States. It's going to be sad when a bunch of SUVs pull up in front of his house and a horde of angry soccer moms march in, order digital cable and plop his kid down in front of the TV, then drag him out for a good old-fashioned witch burning. Because NOT constantly exposing your kids to a barrage of media is heresy anymore.
