Farlan and NP3 with an expected release date of May 30th for Dark and Light has been busy attempting to rebuild hype about their game. Last week it was announced that purchasers of their Pioneer offer would not only get to pass down their wealth and fame, but one of their DnL character would keep their levels from the Prequel Settlers of Ganareth. In recent days the forums have undergone some reconstruction in preparation for launch and screen shots showing the new graphic engine have been released.

Dark and Light sporting the claim "the largest MMORPG you have ever seen" will be a step toward the "One world" idea on MMO worlds, and hopes to become the premier Big World game. All players will connect to a single world, and the hope is that this will create an epic struggle through out the lands of Ganareth. Players of the Sci-Fi game EVE can attest to the value of a one world server build, as it ensures a server population when ever you log on. Having all the storylines happen in the same world basically, it makes grand things possible. When multi server games add land mass, the player base spreads out and you run into other players less, but in one server worlds it has far less impact.

With the 30th just around the corner we will see if DnL passes the trail by fire that is before it. I personally have been watching this game for a number of years and have high hopes for it. The player base has been through major ups and downs do to missed projected date, but the 30th looks like the real thing. The hope is that the fans that are left will be enough for DnL to make the leap to main stream and survive in the viscous pool know as the MMORPG industry.
