You stand there, watching the once proud ships of your fleet scattered and broken. Turning about, you step over piles of flesh and pools of blood on the command deck to issue one final order. Sending gatherers out in a last ditch effort to save your mothership, you notice the final blow. A viral infection has affected the gene structure of your command vessel and you know the end is near.
DreamCatcher has taken the concept of the space starship RTS and added their own unique twist. Genesis Rising is the story of a time when humans have by force made themselves the center of the universe and if any of the other races are to survive, it's time to fight back.
In this game, ships are not made - they are born. This organic technology leads to all the worries of any flesh and blood warrior on the field of battle. Your ships are living, breathing creatures with a taste for blood. Blood repairs them, fuels them, buys you new genetic enhancements, and sometimes will let you buy yourself out of a tight spot. By trading blood and genetics with NPCs, you are able to make treaties, buy help in the heat of battle and hold your own where, normally, you might not be able to.
For RTS players, this title to definitely deserves a second look. Genesis Rising has a great storyline and, with the player editor, new adventures are in your hands ensuring a great capacity of replay.
