imageWarcry had the chance to check out the latest wireless phone offerings from developer THQ. These products range from many popular game titles converted to a mobile phone format to ringtones available to a variety of java-enabled phones provided through major service providers both nationally and internationally - however there is no support being offered for PDAs at this time due to java compatibility issues. Titles include various sports games such as NFL 2007, card games like Sopranos Poker, games for kids such as Spongebob Squarepants, and your favorite console converted games: Destroy All Humans 2, Juiced Eliminator, and Saints Row, along with North America's top favorite (according to THQ), Star Wars. A personal favorite of mine was Worms Mobile, based off of the cult-classic Worms series. On that note, multiplayer is available for most of the games, up to 4 players.

Although these games are constructed out of 3D objects, they are not true 3d games and thus tend to come off very pixilated, something cell phone gamers should be used to at this point. THQ, however, explained that they expect a full transition to 3D engines within the next year, taking advantage of the next-gen mobile phone graphics chipsets hitting the streets later this year. If you're looking for some new games to load to your phone to pass the time when you're stuck in traffic or waiting on a friend, it looks like THQ has some offerings you will want to check out. You can see the current lineup and get future titles at http://www.thqwireless.com/ .
