As the Dreamer slept he created a world from his dreams. In that world entered dream lords who rule over the land and determine its fate. In this unique blend of RTS and MMO environment the players will work together to keep their lands strong, and fight for the attention of the Dreamer.
Each player enters the game as a dream lord, dreamt by the great creator himself, the Dreamer. Once in the world the objective is to maintain your island and also win battles. Also the goal is to grow, survive and gain the attention of the Dreamer. The Dreamer will pay attention to players that are active, and more attention to ones who are successful in battle, and he will reward the player with more points to spend on their military and resources.
The real key that makes this game stand out form the other is that it's half web based and half client based. The player can log in at www.dreamlords.com and from there they can advance skills, resources, view an over map of their island, and do various other preparations before battle. The web based half is a crucial and necessary part of the game, and is meant to be easily accessed from any computer. The client half is a 3D environment where the player can fight off monsters on their island as well as fight other players. Right now the battles are only one on one but in the future Lockpick hopes to expand to a four on four system. The style of battle is very similar to Civilization, where you control several squads and fight and gain bases across the island map. However there is an end to the game, once the players complete their final battle, they get a new island to build, but still retain some of their experience and wisdom as a dream lord.
Dreamlords is currently in alpha phase and is estimated for Beta in June this year. The price is not yet determined, but it will be a monthly subscription. The full game is estimated to be released in Fall 2006 or early 2007. You can check out more about the game at: www.dreamlords.com.
