MMOs Promote "Sociability," Says Study
|

A pair of researchers have decided, after looking at two pairs of games--Lineage I/II and Asheron's Call I/II--that MMOGs serve as "virtual 'third places,'" akin to a pub or bar. Playing games like these--where interacting with other players is just as important as interacting with the environment and NPCs--can not only increase sociability but also introduce new worldviews to the player, they claim.
