That's right. Apparently, all it takes is seven years to determine what the "Top 100 PC Games of the 21st Century" are, according to Next Generation. Still, it's a fun list, even if it's a bit... er... dubious at times. The ranking criteria were a mix of aggregate review scores combined with U.S. sales total, which leads to some amusing upsets--for instance, City of Heroes (53) and Final Fantasy XI Online (51) are both beat out by Bob the Builder: Can We Fix It? (50). SpongeBob SquarePants: Operation Krabby Patty (29) and Barbie Pet Rescue (28) are higher than the 39-30 list, which includes Baldur's Gate II, Knights of the Old Republic, Max Payne, and Grand Theft Auto III.
So... if dubious, it's worth a read.
Oh yeah, and while not quite grabbing the #1 spot, Blizzard places impressively, with its lowest game being #7.
Check it out at Next Gen.
