World Of Warcraft: Recent Database Changes

As part of our ongoing efforts to make the WarCry WoW databases more useful to our community, I've been adding little features here and there in the database pages.

The most recent addition is a copyable link on all our item pages that you can paste in-game to show your friends the item even if you don't have it in your inventory!

So, say you want to show your guild a link to the [High Warlord's Shield Wall] but you don't know any High Warlords and don't want to run large Addons like Lootlink just to save the info. You'd go over to the page with a quick search and copy the Game Link for it and paste it in chat. Then, shift-left click the link it displays to send it to Guild Chat.

You do have to be careful though, as Blizzard occasionally removes items from the game, and if you link those, it will disconnect you from the server for sending an invalid item. This happens fairly rarely, but fair warning. :)

Here's a quick list of the other database changes if you don't want to read the forum thread:

- Quest pages now show quest chains, level, quest tag, and header.

- Search shortcuts:

For example:
To search the whole database - http://wow.warcry.com/search/hearth
However, if you used the following: http://wow.warcry.com/search/hearthstone you should end up at the Hearthstone item page.

- All item/quest/recipe/npc pages should now show any related recipes/npcs/items to the object you are viewing.

- Almost every item link in the database should now have a tooltip that will display when mousing over the item for ease of browsing.

- All items/npcs/quests should have an easily copyable link for pasting preformatted links into forums and web pages. In addition to items having the in-game pasteable links as mentioned above.
