Giving us an early heads up, Samera warns of downtime tomorrow:

All DDO services will be down for maintenance tomorrow from 8:00 am to noon. This includes all game worlds, DDO.com, DDO Forums, and the billing site. This is a maintenance downtime only and therefore there are no release notes. Thank you for your patience.

So, when you wake up and try to login to the game tomorrow and can't even hit the website... don't panic. See the notice at the official site for more information about the server farm-inspired downtime.
