We made camp along the banks of the river, with the shattered fortress brooding high above us. It was our first glimpse of the ruins, and my companions made noises of great trepidation, insisting that they saw fleeting lights on the battlements above, and figures creeping along the rocky cliff. I set wards along the perimeter of our camp, but we slept undisturbed.
