When I first got into "World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade" I did what any loyal horde member would do, I made the new horde character: The Blood Elf. I created my character, watched the intro movie, and got control of my brand new Elf. Naturally the first thing I did was listen to the emotions. You know, the jokes (/silly,) the flirts (/flirt), and the Laugh (/laugh).
The emotions were not what I expected - I will leave what they actually say for you to listen to when you buy the game. But what I figured out was that the Blood Elves are British, similar to the Trolls seem Jamaican, and the Tauren seem Native American. Although the Blood Elf atmosphere does not look anything like England, the accent is very similar.
Another thing that I noticed is that the Blood Elves think very highly of themselves. The Blood Elves are former High Elves, whose home was taken from them by The Scourge. And now, they want to take it back, while holding onto their pride a bit too tightly. I also found that the Blood Elves are very in tune with the Arcane. They have special abilities that let them Drain Mana, and even Silence their enemies.
After doing many quests and getting to level 9, I decided it was time to quit for the day. But I wasn't done forever.
Today, I created a Draenei character. I haven't played with the emotions yet, but I plan to soon. I also have a suspicion that these creatures are supposed to be German, but I'm not certain.
Despite their looks, these noble creatures are far from monsters. They are a peaceful race, who crash landed in Azeroth. Many of them died, but those you find are the survivors.
I haven't made it past level 6 on that character yet, but I did make some interesting discoveries. Most notably, the Draenei are healers. They have a special talent that lets them heal themselves or an ally!
I have really enjoyed these two new races, and I can't wait to get them to higher levels to see what they can really do!
