Does the prospecting ability of jewelcrafters consume the node?

The Answer:
Now I'm not positive about what you mean here, but assuming that you mean does it take the second skill slot (i.e. Leatherworking requires Skinning), my answer would be no. The two Primary Skills that Jewelcrafting takes is "Jewelcrafting" and "Mining."
