World Of Warcraft: BC Question #21: Clarifying Jewelcrafting

The 21st question in the Burning Crusade Q/A:

Clarifying.... if a jewelcrafter uses prospecting on a copper node (minable rock thing) will it disappear as if the character had mined it?

The Answer:
You don't use Prospecting on the Copper Vein, you use Mining on the Copper Vein and then use Prospecting on the Ore from that Vein and receive a few gems.
