Star Wars Galaxies: SWG Cantinas: Horns, halos and something in between

As many of you know I have been traveling cantina to cantina enjoying the night life on the Sunrunner server. Every now and then a club strikes you as different and that happened to me the other night in 'The Horn and Halo'. I managed to catch up to the owner Andi Devlorn and got to know her and her clubs a little better.

Looking out across the club it is split down the middle. To one side is the "halo" half, and to the other is the "horn" half. These subtle but easily seen differences help make the club what it is. The catch phrase for the club captures the spirit of this with "A angelic atmosphere for a devilishly good time." Fix instruments adorn the stage area, and the inviting dance floor is one of the largest I have seen in my times traveling club to club.

Andi runs two incarnations of her club with alternating evenings. When asked about club rules Andi responded "There is a strict no weapons policy enforced in the Horn and Halo, or the H&H as some call it. Violators will be given one warning. If they fail to heed said warning they will be removed by the Class V sentry droids and not permitted back inside for the remained of the evening. (24 hour Ban). The club has a very open policy on many things but if some one is acting in an overly crude and/or generally rude manner they once again will be warned. If they fail to heed this warning they are subject to the same punishment as those brandishing weapons". Maintaining order is something that can be tough in a night club but in my time there it was done seamlessly and did not distract me from the club atmosphere at all.

Andi' her self is an accomplished fighter pilot, adventure, civic official, and Business woman. I found it amazing that she had time to tell me a little bit about her club but I am glad she did. I enjoyed my stay there and think it will become one of my weekly haunts. The atmosphere of the club lends it self to a good time and the staff are always very friendly. I got to do a short interview with the player behind Andi Devlorn. Andi has been around in Star Wars Galaxies since May 2004. Crafting was her first home in the game, but after a time it became more like a job , and less like fun. After some time as a crafter Andi moved on to combat profession skills. As many of you know before NGE Star Wars Galaxies was a skill based game. A player could try different skills in order to make their character unique. Andi Gave combat a try and enjoyed it but when NGE came she was force to make a choice. Her solution to it was to make two characters almost identical to each other with one difference. Andi is a CL90 commando and Andi' is a master Entertainer. This way both characters can be played as the same person, giving the illusion of a multiclassed character.

Andi' is currently in HGS a large roleplaying guild on the Sunrunner server in Star Wars Galaxies. HGS is one of the major promoters of roleplay events on the server and has become home to many Entertainers such as Andi. When asked about the guild Andi told us "HGS is one of the main reasons I remain in SWG as they are a great bunch of people and wonderful friends".

I feel that it is involved players such as Andi, and others like her that keep Star Wars Galaxies alive and well in a galaxy of new MMO's. I am glad I had the chance to talk to her and show her off as another star in Star Wars Galaxies.
