Hakomaru:
Within our lives and throughout time
To hold true power has always been our crime
From dynastys to empires to radical views
The quest for the almighty has always been pursued. This is not so false for my own true desires
For in this life, this strength I can only seek to aspire
But within this world of worlds, this tale has been told
For Arthas was one with ambitions so boldAs many have said, the path of evil is filled with good intentions
And with this Arthas showed he was no exception
Without a doubt he wanted what was best and good
To destroy his foes as a son of Lorderon would
It was because of this task he forever did fall
Into an abyss of darkness, beyond which no helped could be calledI have no ill intention to destroy my country or my father
Although sometimes being able to have Frostmourne wouldn't be a bother
I'd be able to hack and slash away at my boss
And blame it on a sword that had made my mind loss
Girls would flock and kneel at my feet
For who else would have a sword that was so long, big, and l33tThe ability to stay your course without any reservation
May be as flawed as chasing after every temptation
But I understand and wish maybe one day I could be a strong as he
But in the mean time, I'll continue to play WoW, and be the overpowered mage, as best as I can be.
Ryplinn:
I found this question a little oddly worded. Instead of asking "Which lore character do you most admire," or "Which lore character would you want to be like," it was "Which lore character would you want to be?"
For me, that takes out anyone who's currently dead. I'm not interested in being dead. It also removes most of the main characters, because they have all sorts of unpleasant problems, like Arthas being insane and evil, or Archdruid Fandral Staghelm being an obnoxious jerk, or Prince Kael'thas suffering acute magic withdrawal. I'm also not interested in being a raid boss, forever locked into the cycle of kill, be killed, and respawn.
I am interested in being awesome, so I set out to find the most awesome character I could. Here he is, and he is the character I would most want to be:
Elling Trias, Master of Cheeses in Stormwind City.
Why is he so awesome?
First, he sells cheese. I like cheese, so owning a cheese shop sounds like a pretty good deal to me, or at least compared with having to rule a city of undead, or being manipulated by an evil dragon.
Second, he is the "Master of Cheese." Being able to call myself the "Master of Cheese" would fulfill entirely too many of my childhood fantasies.
Third, he's the guy who knows everything that goes on in Stormwind. He has contacts, friends, and owed favors in places both high and low. He's the guy who can have nobles assassinated on the grounds of the keep. He's the guy Matthias Shaw, leader of SI:7, tells you to go to for information and instructions. He is not only the Master of Cheese, but the Master of Stormwind.
And no one realizes it. He gets credit from those who matter, but no blame from those who don't. To the world at large, he is just the Master of Cheese.
But mainly it's the "Master of Cheese" thing.

"Which Warcraft character is the greatest?"
(Warcraft Freestyle)
Which hero to choose,
how could I choose the best?
so many fighters and defenders,
which is better than the rest?
Well, I could have chosen a mage,
or I Medivh chosen a warrior.
Warrior or a mage.
I'd pick one or the Uther.
But I think about warriors
a good deal of the time.
I always seem to have them
Rhonin through my mind.
Mages are fun too,
their enemies they finish.
but they are always Sea King
water to replenish.
So now Ur wondering "which one would I pick?"
Let me finally explain.
My answer you might want to Peon,
but I pick my own main.
Gillbob316:
Personally, and I know it may seem a bit of an odd choice, but personally, I'd be Sylvanas Windrunner...
Why? I honestly don't completely know the answer myself. I've just always loved Sylvanas as a character. I guess you could say she piques my interest... my own curious nature. It's not for reasons like, "OMG, She Pwns Alliance" or "LOL Goth Chicks Rule!" or because I want to be a cool, brooding dark character either... I just admire her more then most players do, even going back to Warcraft III, and I think it would be a unique experience to walk a mile in her shoes.
I loved playing against her in Reign of Chaos. She was one of the NPC heroes that put up a hell of a fight, and you almost hated to see her go when Arthas finally did her in, but still she went down like a champ. I loved playing as her in The Frozen Throne, launching frost arrow after frost arrow, raising an army of Forsaken Skeletons to charge into battle with. Even in non-campaign related maps, to this day, The Dark Ranger is the only hero for me (and even though they all have randomly generated names, I often catch myself referring to them all as Sylvanas anyway... hehe...)
On launch day, when I first set foot in the Undercity, I was all over general chat going, "Where's Sylvanas!? Where's Sylvanas!?" and I could hardly contain myself as I made my way to the Royal Quarter, and saw her standing there, with Varimathras on a short leash. I have to admit, that made me giggle with delight.
She's even the reason I chose to be a hunter... that affinity toward Ranged Combat that she gave me in Warcraft III...
I cheer at the top of my lungs when she gives her somewhat moving and inspirational speech every night of October at the Wickerman Festivel...
I felt a huge sense of satisfaction when I first received my "Seal of Sylvanas" and wore it with pride, without upgrading, much longer then I probably should have. And when I finally gave into an upgrade I still tucked it away in my bank for a good long while. (Until that need for Epic Mount money came a'callin' *Sniff* I miss it...)
To that same end, when I first made the trek into the Eastern Plaguelands, to be taught by Nathanos Blightcaller, the "Champion of the Banshee Queen" I couldn't help but feel more then a slight amount of jealousy toward that Undead NPC, merely because he held the title I coveted. *Smirk* And at that moment I was dedicated to giving any quest he threw at me my damndest, just to prove I was up to scratch with him.
And quite frankly, I think the plaque on Alleria Windrunner's statue in Stormwind is the most moving little easter egg in the entire game. It's very intelligent, and written with love, and it even makes me a bit sad to think that her sister may still be alive, but that now the circumstances of their lives might put them at odds.
When Arthas invaded Quel'Thalas, Sylvanas wasn't commanding her troops from back in Silvermoon, but fighting with them on the front lines, all the way.
She died for her people, and even that didn't stop her from taking up the heavy responsibility of leading them into the future. She broke the Lich King's mental hold, and forged new relationships with Thrall's Horde to ensure the future of her kin. Furthermore, her diplomacy presses on into the Burning Crusade, having formed new ties with her former people the Blood Elves.
So all and all, I love Sylvanas, and she's my choice. She's beautiful, she's deadly, she has more mystique then any other world leader there is. She was the first of the Forsaken, and was more than willing to spread the gift of independence to the other undead.
I admire her dedication to her people, which couldn't even be stopped by death itself, and I think she's one of the more interesting, admirable, and even somewhat tragic characters in Azeroth. I think anyone who could have the opportunity to live her life, go through what she's been through, and still learn to hold their head up and look toward the future as a leader, would be very admirable indeed. Certainly gain quite a bit of perspective on both life, and what lies thereafter, and become a better person because of it.
I <3 The Banshee Queen, and she's my choice.

I did a video blog to this rather than typing a book, I felt it was a much more creative approach and I quote:

Meadhros:
I have a wicked cool voice that woos the ladies, I'm blind (but that doesn't stop me), and I've got horns. (That's right, who doesn't want horns?) I'd be none other than Illidan, brother of Malfurion Stormrage, Ruler of Outland.
I'd have legions of Blood Elves and Naga waiting to act on any word. I'd be the most powerful being the world has ever seen. No prison could hold me. Not even the Master of the Scourge, Arthas, could fully defeat me. No one could stand up against my might.
Alas, I would still suffer heartbreak, as my love Tyrande would not be with me. Such just firms my resolve to win her back.
But, most importantly... I could pull off wings and a red loincloth in any season!

Supreme Ones-
When you ask what person me want to be out of anyone in whole world - me choose Grom Hellscream. De utter women in me Clan all say dat Thrall de best, but me know dat Thrall owe much to Grom. Grom de liberator of orckind. Grom teach Thrall what leadership is. Grom defeat Mannoroth and offer up ultimate sacrifice of his own life to free us all from dirty demon curse.
Me tink - and don' tell me mutter 'bout this - de Horde has gone softer dan a rotten Cactus Apple. If'n ya got a magic stick, wave it an' turn me to ol' Grom. Then me put the Horde to the lash and put all dem pink skins in their place. Oh - an if'n ya can't make me Grom - me could use a nice iron cooking pot.
Respec'ful,
Malaise

In Azeroth you'll hear many a tale
Of wartorn heroes in battle-scarred mail
With flashing blades, the land they defend
But one stands out as a man among men
Nat Pagle...
Whoa ohh ohhh!
Nat Pagle!
In the deep dark waters where the rarest fish lurk
The flash of his lure shining up through the murk
Is a siren song of doom answered sooner than later
No water breathing freak escapes the Fish Terminator
Nat Pagle...
Whoa ohh ohhh!
Nat Pagle
Some say Nat was born right on Zoram strand
With a glint in his eye and a rod in his hand
Cut his first tooth on a Big Mouth Clam
Gave the Golden Pearl inside to his dear Grandmam
Nat Pagle...
Whoa ohh ohhh!
Nat Pagle!
Many challengers come but they never get far
Troutslapped Chuck Norris back to Durotar
Where the Barrens lore claims that Chuck never cries
But one man's seen fear in Charles' eyes
Nat Pagle...
Whoa ohh ohhh!
Nat Pagle!
If you serve breakfast to Nat Pagle
Put Sunscale Lox upon his bagel
Wrap it up to go with Ale and Fries
Gotta cast his line before sunrise
Nat Pagle...
Whoa ohh ohhh!
Nat Pagle!
If I could only be like Nat
Reel 'em in and whack 'em with a thorium-filled bat
Win every derby down in STV
Every Man, Troll and Goblin would envy me
Like Nat Pagle...
Whoa ohh ohhh!
Nat Pagle!
Murlocs, Naga, Nightfins, all
Before my mighty wrath would fall
Blackmouth oil running though my veins
Not a fish in the land wouldn't fear my name:
Nat Pagle
Apop:
If I could be any character in Warcraft lore I would be Malfurion Stormrage. In game I play a 60 Tauren druid and made the decision to play a druid partly because druidism and the story of the Emerald Dream greatly intrigues me. My name Apop a derivative of the word Apoptosis was selected carefully to represent my healer and hybrid status and also reflects partly on the character of Malfurion (Shan'do).
Apoptosis in biology is a word which refers to cell directed suicide which is necessary in an organism either to prevent disease such as cancer but also in the development of an organism like when the webbing between digits on your hand dissipates in early development- that is apoptosis happening in your body. Why is this name a good name for a healer and someone who would model himself after Shan'do? Because shows sacrifice for the good of the whole of nature. Shan'do is charged to defend both Kalimdor and the Emerald Dream and may have to sacrifice himself to The Nightmare in order to do it.
Also, the tauren (an anagram of nature) seem to be the closest race to one which holds no allegiance to their faction. Both tauren and Night Elf druids (like Furion Stormrage) show that their alliance to other Races is their second priority with regard to the looming battles which lie outside the inter-faction squabbles.
The battles between the alliance and horde are nothing in comparison to the battles Malfurion faces currently trapped in the Emerald Dream fighting alongside the spirit of Cenarius. The transcendence of worldly worries, overall unselfishness of his character, and the love driven heroism which Malfurion Stormrage embodies is unmatched in any other character within the lore of Warcraft. Despite the hardships he faces fighting in the Emerald dream I could only hope to be like someone so good in nature and so strong in character in my real life.
Malfurion transcends worldly worries but is an imperfect character. He has to imprison his own brother but cannot bring himself to end his life.
He-- like I would hope to be in my life-- is so strong in character that he must be reminded to share the burden which is cast upon his closest and loved ones. This makes him likable and attainable. I admire his strength in character in World of Warcraft era lore because he is fighting a largely unknown enemy which is more a concept- that of the nightmare. Admirable is one whom always strives for goodness and selflessness in the world where (as exemplified by the nightelves and their want for restored immortality) it is so easy to think of oneself and one's own needs
He is unselfish- driven by constant love of someone who is not always with him (as he says in early druid quests "Tyrande... send her my love... Tell her I am safe... Tell her... Tell her I will return..." )but never forgetting her while they are forced apart by circumstances of the Emerald Dream and his battles against over arching evil. He cannot be sure he will see her again (under the disrupted dream-state) but he shows an unbreakable and pure love that I wish to experience. That connection's strength would be a life defining one. As you can tell I am a hopeless romantic.
Malfurion Stormrage is a character that anyone could hope to be like in their life and knowingly living so in tune with nature and the good of all would certainly lead to a noble life.
Also he and his love Tyrande killed "the lagest panda ever." LOL! Where did that come from.
1c3mAn:
If I could be a Warcraft Lore character, I would have to Chen Stormstout, the Pandaren Brew Master.
Mysterious, I am. A rumor and more. Sometimes for the Alliance. Sometimes for Horde, but not in this expansion.
Drink, Wine and Spirits are my calling and Call they do, and woe be it anyone who stands in my way. Nothing is more deadly then a BrewMaster in Drunken Form.
I live for the brew and a master of it I am, but to continue my search, to Outlands I must go and visit Mok'Nathal. I want to see if they cant help me perfect my Brew where Rexxar could not. Thus, my mission is to see the Blade's Edge Mountains and more.
No one will know though, because Pandarens are the master of martial arts. Rogues only dream about our stealth and Mages dig into their spellbooks to figure out our invisiblity, but they will never know our tricks.
Remember Panfucios say, "The gem cannot be polished without friction, nor man perfected without trials." So let Outlands be my challenge.
Iceman
PS
If you are reading this, can I buy a Purification Potion from you. I may be deadly in Drunken Form, but this hangover is killing me.
