What is your Real Name? Adam Hunter[/p]

What is your official title/position? Senior Programmer

How long have you been working on SWG? Two and a half years

What's your favorite video game of all time and why?

Great question. My usual answer is Star Control II but close seconds would be Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, Return to Monkey Island, and Kohan: Immortal Sovereigns. There are so many other good choices though.

What was the first game you were involved in and what other titles have you worked on?

My first game in the industry was The Hobbit, by Inevitable Entertainment. I've worked on a cell phone game called Ace Yeti Trapper, Turok: Evolution, Ultima X: Odyssey (which was never released), and a few others.

Who is your favorite Star Wars character and why?

Hmm -- I like Qui-Gon Jinn. He is humble, loyal, and pretty talented with a lightsaber. What we forget about the Jedi, is that they were basically cops and Qui-Gon was a good cop.

Who knocks on your door at work the most at work, and what do they usually want?

Designers; they usually want money. Ha! That's a little "SWG team humor" for you right there. Seriously though, I work with the designers a lot. They give us programmers a lot of latitude in helping them refine their designs, which I very much appreciate. Of course, it's a lot easier to design a game system when you have direct (and friendly) access to the guy who wrote the code. It helps a lot when all the disciplines get along. I think on SWG in particular, we all have a great rapport; good enough in-fact, that we can go to lunch together. :]

What other types of video games do you enjoy playing?

I used to be a voracious game player, but of course I don't have as much time as I would like so I've gotten a bit picky. I like to keep up on MMOs in general but I don't have a specific favorite (besides SWG, of course!). I'm currently playing Battlefield: 2142 I think MMOs have a lot to learn from non-MMO online games with un-lockable characteristics or other persistent game mechanics. If I had to pick a favorite genre, I would say RTS, but mostly from the Starcraft/Kohan/Command & Conquer era.
