To the Victor go The Spoils...
By Shawn "Templeton" Silverman and Derek "Zie" Hernandez

November 15th 2006 marked the birth of a new generation; The Spoils trading card game (TCG), was launched. The Spoils, created by Tenacious Games, decided to target a more mature audience-by introducing humor and imagery-with ages ranging from 13 to adult due to sardonic humor, graphical scenes, and sexual innuendo. It will be sure to please anyone who dares play.

The Spoils compels its players to go beyond normal TCGs and use intense strategies which help eliminate sheer luck from the game to bring out a more rewarding experience to the victors. Even though Spoils is turn based, like classic games, players find that even when they are not able to attack they are still part of a turn; with many choices available even while the opponent is attacking. The game also has little lag time, rendering both players continuously plotting and scheming.

Unlike other trading card games, the term "mana problems" is a thing of the past. Spoils uses many different tactics to allow the player use resources to gain more resources in order to play characters, gears and tactics. After the game takes off you have enough "staples" to crush your foe or be crushed.

Currently, the first series players are able to choose and master five different themes. First off, The Banker. Filled with greed and lust for power, the capitalist are willing to pay great to gain ten-fold. The Rogue, fast and conniving, uses their speed and special tactics to try to over-throw their opponent. The Warlord, power hungry as usual, only cares about brute strength to overwhelm their opponent and dish out severe damage. The Gearsmith uses their intelligence to command an army of "micromajigs" to defeat their opponents. Last but not least, The Arcanist. Using their ability for destruction and personal gain, they control phenomenal cosmic power. After three to four months another expansion is planned to be released for even more insane strategies and mind-blowing fighting styles.

The Spoils is very easy to catch onto yet very challenging to master in order to ensure ones survival. Players are able to play more than one theme at the same time, however they have to ensure a proper management of resources otherwise they will be stuck and left to watch their empire crumble. Disparate other games where once your health is depleted the game is over, each theme has a trick up their sleeve to help guarantee their continued existence even when their health reaches its end.

Being tournament oriented, at least for the moment, the integration of this TCG is fast and pain free. And being such that Tenacious games is offering approximately 200 worldwide tournaments, the winners of each will be invited to join in a tournament on a cruise-ship with a jackpot worth $400,000 USD. The total sum of the whole experience will be 1 Million dollars, causing The Spoils Tournament to have the largest cash purse to date. So put the odds in your favor; buy a deck, create a strategy, and compete for the ultimate cash prize in TCG history
