Lord Of The Rings Online: Beta Journal Wednesday: December 6, 2006

It's Wednesday, and that means it's time for a new Beta Journal. Today, the Burglar is spotlighted:

Today's Beta Journal is an account of one of the Beta events that we regularly invite Beta participants to join. On this occasion, we asked players to create characters of the Burglar Class and come together for a frenzy of stealthing fun!

So I figured as this takes place in the Shire what could be more appropriate then to create a hobbit burglar?

So I have my little female hobbit burglar all ready to go now she just needs a name, so I stay simple and use the name Elee!

I had made a point of creating my character many hours before the event so I could get myself to the Stealth stress test staging area near Bindbole Wood.

At about 8 pm EST I logged in and seen that I was not quite were I needed to be, so after listening to general chat in the area I found out all I needed to do was ask a dev for a teleport. Within a matter of seconds I was teleported to an area teaming with my fellow hobbits.

I waited anxiously along with my fellow players for the start of the event&within about 10 minutes we were asked to enter stealth mode and run around the specific area while trying to maintain stealth at all times.

It was all quite fun and exciting to see about 50+ or so little burglars sneaking their little hearts out. We were told that if a monster spotted us and broke stealth we could defend ourselves but we needed to resume stealth mode asap.

After about 20 minutes or so of this we were asked to remove stealth and remain perfectly still, there was a little confusion while some ran around still and others ran around sneaking but eventually the dev's got us under control. At this point the excitement was building, as we were sure we were going to be attacked. Again after a few moments we were told to just run around and have fun.

But soon the mayhem started we were told to enter stealth yet again and shortly there after we started seeing goblins, then trolls and finally undead. I may have missed some of the spawns as it was so busy and little hobbits were like lemmings killing the monsters.

But the best was yet to come.

All was quiet and we thought it was over many had died many times but we all kept coming back for more, then as I stood on the edge of the clearing I heard "did someone see a dragon?".

As I turned to search the area to see what was there I seen a Blue monster with wings, not quite a monster more a drake (as a hobbit drake or dragon its all the same really big) landed smack in the middle of the event& death, destruction and fun ensued.

When it was over we had all died too many times to count and most had little left but the clothes on their back as all armor and weapons were left unusable.

But as we all left the staging area after that grand finale I noted one thing - we all had a great time!
