Study: Console downloads will generate over $800 million revenue
|
A recent study by market research group ABI suggests consumers will spend approximately $833 million by 2011 on downloaded entertainment. This is a trend they are already noticing with Microsoft's Xbox Live service, and suspect will continue as Nintendo's Virtual Console gets heated up, as well as Sony's PlayStation Network once the content gets rolling. Further, they ponder once games are moving to consoles on a frequent basis, what's to stop music, movies and other entertainment from being sold through consoles.
What, indeed. Check out the http://www.abiresearch.com/abiprdisplay.jsp?pressid=798" title="" target="_blank">official research summary.
