Warhammer Online: EA Mythic Press Event Roundup

Last week EA Mythic invited 40 representatives of the worldwide gaming press to a massive presentation, covering Ultima Online (which they are working on revamping since being purchased by Ultima brand owner EA Games), their breakthrough MMO Dark Age of Camelot, and of course Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning.

Reports about the exciting event-which revealed a huge amount of new information and seemed to wow all the participants with the game's polish and fun content-are spread all over the web. To help our Warcry readers out, I've decided to round up some links and quotes to make your information-gathering all the easier.

A good place to start is our own lepidus' Warhammer Online Preview, a comprehensive and well-written article containing tons of info. Once you read through that, check out the screenshots he managed to steal when no one was looking.

Check out Gametrailers for two great RvR videos and an interview with Paul Barnett and Jeff Hickman.

Curse Gaming has a good article, and a bunch of videos of Paul introducing various classes and some PvP. However, if your antivirus/pop-up blocker is not up to date I would avoid the site - it may have been the computer I was using, since it was fine on my laptop, but the second time I tried to look here I got lots of scammy pop-ups trying to get me to download things.

Ten Ton Hammer has an excellent article and some more videos.

Eurogamers' article simply has a different take on what was presented at the event. Less focused on vivid descriptions of the gameplay and more interested in the systems the game will introduce, writer John Walker gives a lot of good information.

More reviews:

IGN's RPG Vault has a preview of WAR along with the Kingdom Reborn update and Stygian Abyss expansion for UO, and a quick look at upcoming DAoC content.
Gamespot has an article, along with a video interview with Paul Barnett.
Gamersinfo has a custard-filled review of the event.
Worthplaying focuses on RvR in their first of two articles. The second, focused on PvE, should be out soon.
MMORPG.com was there too, and I heard they were the life of the party.
