Fu'Miga let us know that the SAGA Project has conducted an interview with prolific writer Aleanne:
For our fifth prominent Neverwinter related person we decided to invite the talented Aleanne. For those that know nothing of him, I can tell you in advance that Aleanne is not only an extremely friendly person but also a very skilled 'texturer' that has already published a series of hall of fame nifty clothing models for NWN2.
In this interview you will not only learn more on Aleanne but also prepare yourselves for the next article that will cover Aleanne's SAGA Pack #2 and see what he has made for the upcoming SAGA PW... Put your hands together for Aleanne!
A bit more:
[SAGA] What sort of difficulties, if any, did you have when you began making textures for NWN2?
[Aleanne] No real difficulties worth mentioning. The process of duplicating existing meshes to avoid replacing existing ones was easy enough to figure out. The limiting factors are :
1) lack of alpha transparency support. I don't have much hope for a future support, since this is engine related, and only Obsidian can do something about it.
2) lack of meshes to work with. The community has already started producing great quality meshes (Zylch000 naked female meshes comes to mind). I hope we'll see more new clothing meshes in the forthcoming months, when solid import/export tools will be available, and if/when the 'Granny' animations issues will be (hopefully) sorted.
3) Lack of tools to adapt/deform meshes. Adinos MDBTOOL has been very helpful in some cases, but having something like Nifskope to play with would be awesome.
