In China, a 26 year-old man has died after a "marathon" gaming sessions over the recent holidays there. The fact that he was 360lbs is noted in the article, although it does not offer any information on what he was playing or for how long and why this death was related to gaming. I've heard people sometimes die while walking too. The article notes that 13 percent of web users people under 18 in that country are legally classified as addicts. Note that the unfortunate person who died in this case is 26. As reported in the Reuters article, it's hard to look at this as anything other than sensationalism.
It's sad that this happened, but I would like to see a wire service like Reuters actually check and see if the two events are even remotely linked before reporting it and adding fodder to the fire.
