We got a look inside the making of the Hydra today!
The decision was made early on that a multi-headed, dragon-like creature had to be in Gods & Heroes: Rome Rising. The Hydra was an obvious model: Hercules slew the notorious, many-headed creature as one of his 12 labors. But even for a child of the gods, it wasn't easy: Hercules had to wear a piece of cloth over his mouth and nose to protect himself from the Hydra's poisonous breath, and two heads grew in the place of every one the legendary hero cut off (until his nephew Iolaus came up with the idea of scorching the neck stumps with a burning firebrand).
Its really cool to see how they decided to add the Hydra, and all it took to do it!
