Lord Of The Rings Online: "What Happens When I Get to Level 15?"

| 3 Apr 2007 16:31

Have you been wondering? Patience was kind enough to put together a summary of what will happen when you hit the beta cap:

This post should clear up some of the questions about what happens when players hit the level 15 cap in Open Beta!

There is a great deal to do outside of questing and killing after you have hit the cap:

  • You can continue to advance your professions in crafting
  • You can continue to work on Deeds
  • You can continue to collect Destiny Points in monster play
  • You can continue to rank in monster play
  • You can continue to collect items and loot

  • However, once you reach level 15, you will NO LONGER receive any XP for anything in the game.

If you accept quests after you have been capped, there are a few things to know:

  • If you finish the quest and turn it back in to the Quest Bestower, you will not ever receive XP for completing that quest and you will not be able to repeat the quest after the cap is lifted
  • If you finish all objectives on a quest but do not turn it in, and save it stacked in your quest log, you can then turn it in after the level cap has been raised to receive full XP for the quest.
  • Even if you follow the example above, you will still not receive XP for any incidental kills you do during the quest, as XP is locked after the cap. When you turn in the quest after the cap is lifted, you will receive XP for completing the quest, but not for the kills.
  • Finally, bear in mind that, after turning in many quests after the cap has been lifted, you may start to level up, and some of the XP rewards will then be less valuable to you for the quests you are turning in.
  • If you have a question that's not answered here, please let us know and we'll see if we can get the answer added!
