Eve Online: About that unscheduled downtime, CCP offers explanation

Looks like someone tried shoving a Swiss cake roll in the hard drive. Ok, maybe not. Here's what really happened:

Ok. You remember the problem with the market leaking memory a week or so ago. We got it fixed back then and the fix worked great. But we managed to get an optimization to increase the market performance and speed. This basically went tits up and broke the market. Although no players was effected by it (no orders or sales etc lost) it was causing the market nodes to die.

There was also a problem with Tech 1 mining crystals where they did not require minerals to produce them. This was part of a fix to make them refinable that went wrong. This issue has also been resolved.

We can only apologize about this.
