Logging into the game I noticed the following notice:

The LOTRO game servers will be down for maintenance on Friday, April 20th from 9:00AM - 1:00PM EDT. Thanks for your patience!

Patience then added in a thread on the official forums:

There are no changes to the game tomorrow other than replacing the pre-order splash screen and some server-side maintenance.
